The wineries of Keuka Lake are all small, friendly, and easy to get to from Serendipity.  Most are open April-November.  All have gift items, some are more comprehensive in their selections.  There are several themed wine weekends (www.keukawinetrail.com) scattered throughout the year.  Participating wineries provide complementary wine glasses, wine-tasting, finger foods, and a keepsake item - all based on the theme.  In addition, a few of the wineries have their own themed events, some including music: you get more complete meals at these.

There are many excellent wineries on the east and west sides of Seneca Lake as well (www.senecalakewine.com).  They offer similar wine weekends and individual winery events.  The east side of Seneca Lake is just over the hill to the east of Serendipity, about a half-hour drive that goes through the small town of Dundee.
